An alert was issued by officials on Thursday as investigators seek the public's assistance in tracking down the whereabouts of 33-year-old Devone Articis Hall, who is wanted in connection to an assault incident that was reported earlier this month in Lexington Park.

Deputies from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office were called shortly after 12:30 a.m. on April 3 to the 46000 block of Midway Drive, where there was a reported altercation involving Hall and at least two others.

Investigators say that Hall allegedly used a sledgehammer to strike two people inside the home during a confrontation, leaving one with serious injuries. He then left the area before deputies could arrive at the residence.

Due to the nature of the assault, detectives said that Hall may pose "an immediate danger to the public," and he should not be approached. Anyone who comes into contact with him was instructed to immediately call 911.

Hall was described as being approximately 5-foot-6 with a thin build. A warrant has been issued for his arrest regarding the assault.

The incident remains under investigation.

Anyone with information regarding Hall or his whereabouts has been instructed to call Crime Solvers at (301) 475-3333 or texting a tip to 274637 with "Tip239" in the message.
